Feel pretty in the dress you're wearing/Oh mother of pearl!!!

Hello Blog World,

Just wanted to do a quick little write/vent (whatever it may be called)

So how is everyone doing?

Here I sit thinking I should do a blog update. Now I am aware I don't update this often and it doesn't mean that my planning has stopped, it just means I don't blog to often. Truth be told, last week was spent sending emails to my bride's maids discussing dresses and options on how they will look and how they want to look... Oh and I added another bride's maid...say what...yes I did...It's my business to do so...lol ...(at least that is what I am sticking to saying)

Nonetheless. I didn't want the girls to all be the same traditonal looking, same color same dress get up,...(drives me crazy)....honestly I don't want them to waste money on bridesmaid dresses at all...they won't wear them again...even if they look different than each other with different dresses, more than likely who is willing to wear a bride's maid inspired dress to a lovely summer cocktail party, or to a wedding they get invited to later on in the year???

No one wants to show up to the wedding looking like they are a part of the wedding party when they are not, at least I wouldn't. So instead I offer them the chance to find their own dress as long as they followed a few simple rules,

Like the color, fabric, length ....and as long as they receive approval from me in the end, the choice is theirs, if one girl loves ruffles and empire waist dress than she can go on the perfect search for that because she knows it looks great on her. While another might hate ruffles and has a thing for wrap dresses, she will also get the her chance to find something to make her feel comfortable and beautiful.

I want them to be inspired to find pretty dresses from places like J.Crew (which has lovely summer inspired bridesmaid that you'd want to wear again.) So we'll see how the finishing product looks in the end as a complete picture, I know it will be nice (well I hope it will be nice, and I pray for it to look lovely).

***************************************************************

so I love to watch shows like Say Yes to the Dress, and I get a tad bit jealous of the women who have their mother's there for the wedding experience. Somedays I feel like neither of mines are present, while I want both of them, my mom and future mother in law to take a part in this. But I don't get the feeling like either of them want to. I know I am the person who always does things on my own but this is one thiing I wish I had support. How can I get them invovled or at least feel like they are apart of this. I know I picked the colors and the theme and I know how it should look...but what about the fun part of shopping ....no one wants to do that with me. I mean most people look forward to finding a dress and trying on dresses....I am avoiding dresses all around because I have no one to go dress shopping with and I have no dress support. Both of them discuss my wedding without me but neither will ask me question or offer to do things..., I guess I am the only one excited about our wedding. I don't expect them to jump out the window for joy but it would be nice if they wanted to be a little part of it other than just showing up.

Nonetheless

Here we are at the end of 13 months and soon heading into the danger zone of 1 year of planning...

everyone pray for me to get some mother support...I really would like some, even if it is a little.

Peace and Love
