ELC in search of a BBV.

*Engaged Loving Couple in search of a Beautiful Big Venue*

Lately with venue searching I feel as if I should put out an ad like the romantic personal.

So it has come to my attention that there is a show for finding the perfect wedding dress.

There is a show for finding the perfect house...

So why isn't there a show for finding the perfect venue...I mean...this is what we are dealing with and I've seen other blogs involving rants about the right venue...

Serioulsy I wouldn't miss one episode of a show if it mixed "say yes to the dress" with "house hunters". It seems as if no place that has exactly what we need and want...and our ever growing list of demands...

I could see my lovely ad in the paper now...

I would like a venue that is free on weekend nights, is a one wedding party at a time venue...one that is big and beautiful and can party all night long until the sun comes up. A venue that won't be afraid to stuff my face with good food and doesn't mind my drinking habits. A venue who is cheap and easy and is happy to let me have my way with it.

Sadly venues don't read the want-ads and most are not... nor do they come "cheap and easy, and ready to please me"...and many turn into pumpkins at midnight.

This midnight shut down would be great for some weddings, but my fiance says he needs for it to be a 2am ending time...

Now I know some of yall are like "say what!!!" at least I was like that *I can't front*...I was thinking....how and why would we have a wedding until 2am...but my finace is very important part of this day as well as I.

So he get what he wants, as well as I get what I want....and the things we don't agree with...we learn to compromise...

but on this he wins the battle of a late night venue... as I have to and will be respectful of both families and cultures and I was told by my man ...that many persian weddings go on until forever ...sometimes all the way into the early morning.

so yes...our current venue defeats have been quite a few....we need a place that doesn't cost our first and second born...

and will be able to fit around 300 guest*....

and is close to hotels and location friendly for our out-of-town guest...(we have many and plenty we plan to invite...like about 50 percent of them)....

...and a place that will allow us to par-tay as late as 2am... (well a place that allows my guest to party until 2am)

...I might become a pumpkin at 12am...but we will see...

personally I will be happy when we can end our venue hunting and finally say yes to the wedding location.

So far we dealt with a casino...I thought a casino would be cool because it would keep our guest busy...but then I realize it probaly wouldn't be to happy for me as we have some serious gamblers

(like my fiance is one of them, my future brother in law, my brother, my brother in law who is married to my sister, a few aunties, some of my love's cousin, some of my cousin...and some of our friends...yeah...even I have a lottery ticket problem... and a stratch ticket problem... as it could get bad..I might not even show up... you might find me stuck in a corner surrounded by tiny square pieces of papers while constantly putting my quarters to work on trying to win a dollar or $25 dollars off of 7-11-21 .....*you only know what a 7-11-21 is if you have the same problem as me.)...

we might lose half of the wedding guest and party before the wedding starts (I will save myself the anger before it starts)...lol

...So casino resort goes at the bottom of my list, but everything has pros and cons....one thing I liked about the hotel resort casino was the fact that it was a resort and the hotel rooms were on the location for my guest...but it is like a scary road to get to the casino and nothing is around it so for those guest who get stuck out there that wouldn't be cool....so still it stays at the bottom of my list...lol

Second place... it is beautiful, it is a home location...so you save on venue rental fees...but not big enough to fit 300 people.... besides, we'd have to rent chairs and find a carter and I am too lazy for that...I'll leave the chairs and tables and food problem to the venue that I find to hold the function...Plus, if we have it there who would clean up afterwards... even though we would be able to party as late as we like, I worry about the out-of-town guest access to actually making it to the wedding.

Third place...nice...good price...but the police station was across the street...no thank you...(who thought of that crazy ideal)...we have many different races and cultures attending the wedding and we don't need them to go to jail on our wedding night due to profiling. Nor do we want the police to use our families as a training course called "harrassed the minorities of all colors"...and they only allowed partying until 12am...my babe isn't happy with that.

Fourth place - I loved it, the space and everything,.... the price, the location...the fact that there were no blackjack tables or penny-slot machines right outside the reception door...but G to the Z to the illa not so much...he didn't approve of the 12 am cut off time of partying once again...so it is on the list ...but for him none of these place are too high on his list...(I think he ranks the casino at #1 and this worries me...lol)

So back to the drawing board I begin to march in search for a venue that will make my G to the Z to the illa smile and make me happy just as well...some place that will show us and our love ones the finest time.

Meanwhile....in between the venue search I am photographer hunting and trying to
come up with ideals for save the dates, dressing the wedding party, blah blah balh...and start a wedding page...

My sister suggested I start one and I thought why not. I am hoping to have it completed by this Saturday so I can share the link with all.

Next up....

Dressing the wedding party....you won't be required to like the dresses you wear... but you will be required to wear dresses you love...

&

Silly grooms-men...you don't get to dress yourself...that is my job... (insert evil laugh here)

(I refuse to make have grooms-men look like clones)

peace & sainty.

*(yeah the list was originally at 275 but somewhere....Babe manage to secertly tack another 25 guest...I say whatever....what is the difference in 25 more people...I say whatever....by the time we do our actual list we probably will be at 275 more than 300 since I am the one who has done a psuedo list and I stop at 230 but gave him extra slots...but I digress...lol)
